Information Management Book Shows Senior Business Executives How to Use Technology

A new production and operations book called "The Edge" helps business executives who want to learn how to best invest resources in implementing computers systems and technology.

"Their fears are not unfounded," said Manoj Garg, a CIO consulting expert and co-author of a new decision-making and problem solving fictional novel called "The Edge."

"C-level executives and key managers keenly understand that technology is a tool for business success, and is continually evolving. But technology can also be a mystery to many executives," said Garg, the Founder and Managing Partner of Virtual Information Executives, a consulting firm that specializes in helping clients achieve breakthrough business results through IT leadership.

"The Edge" is a business novel that educates senior business leaders how to get an edge in running their companies through the strategic use of Information Technology.

"With the right application, technology can increase the speed and competitiveness of business dramatically while gaining more value for the dollars spent on IT," said co-author Mike Scheuerman, a CIO consulting expert, who has 35 years of senior executive leadership skills and technical expertise in multiple industries including financial services, health care, high tech manufacturing and higher education.

About the Book

Using a highly readable fiction formula, the book follows the trials and tribulations of a small business owner as he seeks to grow his business.  "The Edge" challenges the status quo, encouraging a closer involvement and communication within a company while maximizing the effectiveness of technology investments.

"It is a swift, enjoyable read that can be easily shared with others to become a rallying tool that helps executives lead in new ways while building scalable, nimble and profitable enterprises," the authors said.

"The Edge" (ISBN - 13:  978-0578171203) is available in print format on Amazon for $15.99 and contains 240 pages.

"The Edge" will:

--  Show how small and mid-size firms struggle with lack of needed
information to make decisions at the tactical and strategic level
--  Guide executives and managers on how to make the right IT investments at
        the right time

The book will help executives answer such questions as:

--  How can IT bring competitive advantage to our company?
--  How can IT help drive improved performance of the critical departments
        in our organization?
--  How can IT increase productivity and reduce our need to hire more
        people?
--  How can we navigate through all these expensive IT products and service?
--  Are we capable of selecting-much less implementing-a key software
package that's vital to our future business success?

"The Edge" gives executives the knowledge and tools to guide their company as it transitions from a mid-level to a high-level competitor in the marketplace.
