Businesses Say No to Deferring Tax

Small businesses aren’t interested in participating in the deferred Social Security tax program proposed by Trump, reports the Associated press. 

As employees of small businesses get their first September paychecks, they’re probably receiving their usual amount — company owners are still withholding money for Social Security despite a presidential order allowing the tax to be deferred.

According to USA Today, Local Initiatives Support Corporation, with help from funds provided by Lowe’s Home Improvement, has opened another round of small business emergency relief grants.

According to Forbes, small businesses facing financial difficulty have a few options other than bankruptcy. 

It’s an understatement to say that the pandemic has not been kind to small businesses. In fact, nearly 79% of small businesses have felt a moderate-to-large negative effect from the pandemic, according to an August 2020 U.S. Census Bureau Small Business Pulse Survey..
