The Small Business Administration (SBA) will soon be making loans again, reports Fox Small Business. The House has passed a bill raising the lending cap for the SBA. Currently, the SBA is at its limit for loans and cannot make any additional loans until next fiscal year. The bill awaits Obama’s signature.

Small Business Administration Runs Out of Funds

The Small Business Administration hit its budgetary limits for loans, reports Money. The limit, set by Congress, was reached by the Administration last Thursday, forcing the Administration to halt lending to small businesses with almost two months left in its fiscal year. This means that small businesses seeking a loan will have to wait until next fiscal year for their loan.

Small Businesses Not Prepared for Credit Card Change

According to eWeek, the EMV (the new standard for credit card payments) shift, is only a few months away, but a new survey shows that small businesses are not prepared for the change. The survey found that 52 percent of small business will not be ready. In addition, the survey found that 37 percent of small businesses have no intention of accepting the new cards.
