Use These 4 Tools to Secure Your Business Network

altNo matter what size your business is, keeping your computer network safe will not only protect your company’s information, but also your customers’. You can do this with one or more of these four security tools.

Encryption Software

This security tool protects ingoing and outgoing information from hackers, and is especially important if you handle any type of financial information on your network. When installed, encryption software will automatically jumble your emails, credit card transactions and other sensitive information before it leaves your secure network, and then unscramble it once the information “gets” to where it needs to be. This way, nothing is left unsecure in transit.

Firewalls

Firewalls are just as important to your network’s security as they are to your computer’s. This security tool option puts up a block to protect other programs from getting inside your network or other computers from connecting to it.

Antivirus Software

This security tool is one of the most well-known options, as well as one of the most important. Antivirus software is similar to firewalls, except they provide another layer of protection. It will not only protect the individual computers on your network from malware or spyware, but also your network as a whole, which will typically prevent anything from ever making it as far as an individual computer’s firewall.

Automatic Updates

Encryption software, firewalls and antivirus software are only good if they are updated. Programming that forces all of these security tools to update automatically will keep your network safe against even the newest threats.
