Pick Your Phone: Blackberry, iPhone, or Android

altAs a business owner, having a phone isn't just about taking pictures and text messaging. For a business owner, your phone can be your lifeline, the way you connect with customers, suppliers, anyone really. It can be your window to social media, and a way to keep your busy life organized.

So, the question is, which phone is really the best? Today we will explore the differences between iPhone, Blackberry and Android phones and tell you a little bit about each one and what it has to offer that can help (or hurt!) your business.

If this were a few years ago, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. Blackberry, up until a few short years ago, was the ruler of phones, especially in the business world. Blackberry is a tried and true leader in the business field. Blackberry continues to be the go to guys for email and messaging, both of which are very important to a business owner like yourself. Battery life in the Blackberry is probably the best of the three, in my opinion.

The OS of the Blackberry is also very easy to use, and organized. As far as calendar and organizing go, this is a great choice. Blackberrys are made for the business user, as opposed to the others that are geared towards the average consumer. As far as being durable, the Blackberry has been known to be able to take a beating. Not everything about the Blackberry however, is the greatest. The web browsing functions have sort of left something to be desired. Another weakness is that the Blackberry requires a lot of additional software and software upgrades that the other two don't really need.

Let's move on to Apple's iPhone. Probably the most popular phone among average consumers these days, it has been able to capture the eyes of some of the business world. It's sleek, sexy and popular, and Apple knows it. The operating system and the app store are both best-in-class, and that cannot be argued. The web browsing in Apple phones is second to none, and makes working on the internet easy. The iPhone, of course, looks great, and the hardware is exceptionally well made. The battery life is not the greatest, and I would have to say that the iPhone is a little fragile.

Now on to the new kid, Android. The Google Apps and Android Market are really cool, and give a lot of extensive choices. The Android OS is available on a wide variety of phones, so that you can choose any phone to suit your needs! The battery life is not great either, but that is pretty typical. I do not know this for sure, but from what I have heard, the Android phone has improved tremendously in the last few years.

All in all, the choice is really up to the individual user and business person. Depending on what you are looking for in a phone, you will have to make the individual choice as to which one is right for you.
