Lawrence Tech's Growth Accelerator Fund Competition has awarded 387 prizes totaling more than $19 million to 284 winners since its launch in 2014. The business incubator at Lawrence Tech recently won a big grant funding, which will help them continue to provide resources and support to entrepreneurs and businesses in the area. Army Unveils Second Catalyst Program to Invest in Small Business Tech Projects

The U.S. Army has launched the second iteration of a Small Business Innovation Research program to accelerate the development and deployment of next-generation warfighting technology to military personnel. The Army SBIR Catalyst initiative will select five small businesses in fiscal year 2024 to receive contracts worth up to $75 million to advance prototype development, testing and transition efforts, the service branch said Tuesday. Eligible small businesses must have fewer than 500 employees and must have been in operation for at least one year.

Small Businesses are Turning to AI to Survive the Challenging Economy

Verizon's annual State of Small Business Survey has found that small businesses are turning to Artificial Intelligence (AI) to survive the current economic climate. The survey was conducted with over 2,000 small business owners and found that over half of the respondents are using AI to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Additionally, the survey found that the majority of small businesses are looking to AI to help them better understand customer needs and preferences. The survey also revealed that small businesses are increasingly looking to AI to help them automate mundane tasks and gain insights into customer behavior.
