Stand-Alone Mobile Commerce Solution for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses
New York City startup bMobilized today launched the first stand-alone mobile commerce solution for small and medium-sized businesses. The new online tools let SMBs instantly build a custom mobile shopping experience that feels and works like an app and runs on any mobile operating system including iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry 10, and others. No technical or design skill nor prior website or e-commerce store is needed.
Powered by jQuery Mobile, the new mobile store reflects the business's graphic identity and features a fully functional shopping cart, product search and multiple payment methods such as Amazon Payments, PayPal, credit cards, and soon Google Wallet. SMB owners can deploy the solution from scratch in under 10 minutes.
"The value of this turn-key solution cannot be underestimated for the millions of businesses that currently do not offer their customers the capability to transact on their mobile devices," said Bjorn Holte, founder of bMobilized. "Just this week, Gartner predicted that mobile payment transactions worldwide are on pace to hit $235.4 billion in 2013, up 44% from the $163.1 billion in 2012."
bMobilized has made creating an online store incredibly easy. Its m-commerce solution is designed so that anyone selling anything can build from scratch a mobile store in a matter of minutes. Users can simply add product images and descriptions as well as choose from a list of accepted currencies, shipping options and payment methods. Furthermore, there is no limit on the number of items listed, nor any transaction fees. Access to the m-commerce solution will be free for all businesses while in beta.
For small and medium-sized businesses hoping to compete with the big guys, having a mobile online store is essential. M-commerce is expected to increase steadily until at least 2017, according to eMarketer. This year in the U.S., more than half of online buyers will make a purchase on a mobile device. They will spend $38.8 billion--a number expected to reach $108 billion by 2017.
"The huge increase in mobile shoppers in the last few years means that businesses have to adapt quickly," said Ben Seslija, CEO of bMobilized. "With our m-commerce solution, we aim to make it easy for any business to capitalize on the opportunity and stay relevant in a world that's becoming more mobile by the day."
