Brother designed the DS-920DW with wireless transfer and duplex capabilities to help users digitize photos, invoices and other documents to help improve organization, reduce paper clutter and enhance their productivity. In developing the DS-920DW, Brother focused on creating a mobile scanner that had value for both the consumer and SOHO user. The ability to quickly scan receipts for business and then photographs or recipes for personal use, makes the DS-920DW invaluable to a home or business. The DS-920DW, along with every other model in the DSmobile series, is faster and more versatile than its predecessor, scanning at speeds up to 8 ppm(1) in simplex and 5 ppm(1) in duplex. And to promote easy integration into multiple personal and work environments, the TWAIN-compliant DS-920DW is compatible with Windows(®), Mac(®) and Linux(®) operating systems.
The DS-920DW includes wireless transfer capabilities via an included 4GB SD memory card, allowing users to wirelessly send scanned materials to computers, a mobile device with an installed internet browser and Apple(®) and Android((TM)) mobile devices via the free, easy-to-use ScanHub(®) app.(2) Scanned documents can also be sent to email servers, shared folders and FTP sites(3). The DS-920DW features a LCD display and dedicated scan settings keys for quick and easy operation. Thanks to its high-speed, single-pass duplex scanning as well as rechargeable battery and USB power options, DS-920DW users are able to quickly scan documents virtually no matter where they are.
Addressing the ever-growing need for scanning, digitizing and sharing documents, the DS-920DW includes a comprehensive suite of scanning software including a desktop document management program, as well as a business card management program. The DS-920DW also includes new BR-Receipts( )software(4) that enables users to scan receipts and then export receipt data to Microsoft Excel(®), QuickBooks(®) software or Quicken(® )software.
The DS-920DW, like every scanner in the DSmobile series, comes with a one-year limited warranty and free phone support for the life of the product.
"Understanding our customers' increased demand for digitizing and sharing information in both their personal and professional lives led us to enhance our mobile scanner lineup with faster speeds and more robust features," said Steve Feldstein, Director of Marketing for Brother Laser and Scanner products. "By providing our customers with a full lineup of mobile scanners, at a variety of budget-friendly price points, Brother can now offer increased productivity, compatibility and value for their business and home."
Brother will be introducing a full line of DSmobile scanners: the flagship DS-920DW ($199)(5) and DS-720D ($149)(5) available in October 2013, as well as the DS-820W ($179)(5) and DS-620 ($129)(5) available in September 2013.
