SCORE, – www.score.org – the nation's largest network of free, expert business mentors, has gathered statistics on the most effective strategies for social media marketing. This is the last in our series of infographics on content marketing statistics (see parts one and two). 88% of rapidly growing small and mid-size businesses use social media, highlighting its increasing importance. 


Facebook most effective for B2C marketing, LinkedIn beneficial for B2B
Depending on target audience, marketers found certain social media platforms more effective. When asked which platform provided better results, B2C marketers preferred:
  • Facebook (58%)
  • Twitter (52%)
  • YouTube (49%)
  • Instagram (43%)
  • Pinterest (41%)
  • LinkedIn (36%)
  • Google+ (23%)
B2B marketers felt the following social media channels were valuable:
  • LinkedIn (63%)
  • Twitter (55%)
  • YouTube (48%)
  • Slideshare (42%)
  • Vimeo (40%)
  • Facebook (32%)
  • Pinterest (25%)
49% more shares on weekdays
Surprisingly, people share content 49% more on weekdays than on weekends. 48% of B2C marketers tend to post more than once a week, and 42% of B2B marketers post daily or many times a week.
