App For New Business Ideas Now Available On Android Devices
GoDaddy Inc. (NYSE: GDDY), the world's largest technology provider dedicated to small businesses, announced today that Flare is available for download in the Google Play store. GoDaddy launched Flare, a community-based app enabling entrepreneurs to bring their business ideas to life, on iOS in May, and the app was featured by Apple in the App Store earlier this month in its "New Apps We Love" section. Since its launch, Flare has created a vibrant community among consumers, budding entrepreneurs and experts.
Flare allows people to both share ideas for business ventures, as well as provide impartial feedback. Upon opening the app, users see new business ideas from the community and can swipe left to "skip," swipe right to "snooze" or tap to learn more and "love" an idea. When an idea has enough "loves," the entrepreneur behind it can pose questions to the idea's followers. The experience provides entrepreneurs with the feedback necessary for taking their ideas to the next level, while also empowering people to become advisors and play an active role in an idea's journey. Users can become followers of an idea and pledge to be a future customer, which provides valuable insight to entrepreneurs on the potential demand for their products or services.
A new feature revealed for both Android and iOS versions today allows both entrepreneurs and followers to post comments, questions, and updates to promote more engagement and interaction.
Following the release of Flare in the Apple Store, users who downloaded the app immediately started contributing ideas and becoming an engaged part of the community. The most popular ideas, including an app for "Date Ideas on Demand," a "Children's Fever Band" and a "Sports Rental Place" small business, gathered hundreds of "loves" in the initial 24 hours. In fact, three out of four ideas gained enough "loves" to help the entrepreneur explore it further. The app has also proven to be a useful tool for entrepreneurs with multiple business ideas as nearly 20 percent of users have come back to the app to share more than one idea.
"We're excited for the next phase of users to join the Flare community," said Rene Reinsberg, vice president of Emerging Products at GoDaddy. "We created Flare to give people a place to share ideas and connect with others, and we're thrilled to see that happening on Flare for iOS. We look forward to welcoming Android users into the Flare community, and continuing to see people's ideas take shape and turn into something real."
