Over the past four years, the Small Business Administration approved over $100 million in loans, reports Forbes. Questions are arising whether that money really going to small businesses. Typically, small businesses look for loans that average around $50,000 but according to the SBA’s own data a majority of the loans issued were for more than $355,000.

According to Businessweek, a recent study conducted by Pepperdine University and Dun and Bradstreet Credibility Corp finds that small business owners remain frustrated with the federal government. In the study, 61% of participants reported that unease about the situation in Washington was preventing them from hiring. Also, over 80% of the companies in the study indicated they would not give their employees a raise to compensate for higher payroll taxes.
