Small Changes to Affordable Care Act Benefit Small Business

Two new tweaks to Obamacare have passed the House of Representatives, reports the Washington Post. The changes will benefit small businesses under the Affordable Care Act. The first change approved by the legislation would let small businesses hire military veterans but not count them toward their company’s total under the Affordable Care Act.

According to the Denver Post, in 2015 the Republican led Congress might just bring some help to small business in the form of new tax bills and legislation. In addition, the Small Business Administration is working on making it easier for small businesses to obtain funding.

A survey by SurePayroll finds small business owners the most optimistic they’ve been in 2 years, reports Accounting Today. The December Optimism survey found 79 percent of respondents feeling optimistic about their business, which is a dramatic increase from 2012’s 55 percent.
