Cold calling, or the practice of randomly calling prospective clients to pitch a product or service, was formerly one of the primary methods that sales representatives used to generate leads. However, with the advent of technology and social media, otherwise known as “Sales 2.0” practices, many lead generation services are arguing that traditional cold calling is an ineffective practice that should be retired altogether.
