According to Businessweek, the growth in small business sales is due to a large number of baby boomers preparing for retirement. The improving economy means that more small businesses are finding buyers, for the first three months of this year, the number of sales that closed jumped 56 percent from the same time in 2012.

Appearing on a reality TV program can propel a small business from unknown to a household name, reports the Washington Post. The recent success of several reality TV programs that focus on the owners of small companies is driving other small businesses to seek out opportunities to appear on a reality TV program.

According to online leading platform Biz2Credit, small business lending is on the rise. The survey shows that large banks (those with over $10 billion in assets) approved 16.8 percent of small business loans in April, which is up from 15.7 percent in the month of March.
