The email can arrive in your inbox cleverly disguised, appearing to come from your boss, a co-worker or some other person, business or organization you trust. But click on a link or attachment as instructed and you could be in for a headache. You’ve just given cybercriminals access to your company’s data – and potentially put the business out of compliance with federal laws and regulations about protecting that data.

According to StatCounter, more than half of the computer models sold in the United States during March 2018 were laptops.  The remaining units were primarily of the personal computer/desktop variety while a small percentage were tablets.

High profile data breaches continue to garner national headlines, shining an important spotlight on these persistent attacks against companies that safeguard personal information. While major breaches like the attack against Equifax are sensational in size and scope, each day much smaller businesses face their own onslaught of phishing emails that require just one mistake in order to expose sensitive data and wreak havoc for months.
