Lending Improves but Still Lags
Numbers from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp show that in the first quarter banks loaned $585 billion in loans to small businesses, reports the Wall Street Journal. Unfortunately, it is still 18% less than the peak. During 2008, banks loaned $711 billion to small businesses.

Women Still Struggle to Get Credit
According to ABC News, women small business owners have a harder time getting credit. Statistics provided by the online lending company Biz2Credit.com sites show women's business loan approval rates are between 15 percent and 20 lower than men's.

The Census Bureau’s Business Dynamics Statistics show small business responsible for creating 55.5 percent of all new jobs in 2011, which is down from 67.2 percent of all jobs in 1987.

Statistics from the National Cyber Security Alliance show that yearly 1 out of 5 small businesses is the victim of a cybercrime, reports the Washington Post. In addition, nearly 60 percent of the cybercrime victims go out of business within six months of the attack.
